Hello everyone! It's been awhile since we've updated! We've got some more news for our crop day! But first, just a little post for our Out West Friends....my fellow scrappy friends, Rhea and Ann are hosting a crop out in Calgary. You can see the details HERE....anyways, they said they would donate $5 to our day for every person that was referred from here. So if you're in the Calgary area and you need a day away, book next Saturday for a day of scrapbooking and amazing prizes. Rhea has been updating me on their giveaways and they ROCK!!! If you sign up for their crop, make sure you put in the comment section something about the sunflowercrop....Thanks so much for your support!!!
I will update tonight with more details about the day! We've got some exciting news!

The Excitement Builds
When I was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer, I thought the worst thing in this world at the time was to have to tell my children. When Gilles and I broke the news to them, it was tough. But instead of looks of fear and a flood of tears, we felt such love and support. Of course my beautiful offspring and their spouses were concerned and I am sure, afraid too, of the unknown, but they surrounded us with arms of comfort and words of encouragement that lifted me up and soothed my pain.
Throughout my journey, our clan has always been there, urging me on to battle this ovarian cancer that is so appropriately dubbed the 'silent killer.'
Last year Amanda and Janice along with Amanda's mother-in-law (Pierrette) and I formed The Sunflower Seeds. Our motivation for the name was our desire to plant seeds and help raise awareness about ovarian cancer. We entered our Sunflower Seeds team in the Walk of Hope Mini Walk in Barrie last September and we raised over $6000 for the cause. We were thrilled. People were so generous when we sought sponsorship.
The team lives on. This year we will walk again in September, but to give us a head start, the girls are once again getting me cracking (no sitting around feeling sorry for yourself allowed!) and I am now diving head first into this exciting day in May and am helping any way I can. If you can, come on out and join us on May 2nd for a great scrapbooking/cardmaking day. Mark your calendar now and do get in touch soon if you want us to reserve you a spot. It doesn't matter if you are an expert or not. We've got you covered. Come on out and have some fun. You don't even have to get dressed up - pyjamas are the fashion of the day! I was talking to our eager esthetician today. She is so excited about coming and has even ordered some lovely teal nail polish for the occasion! I am thrilled. Keep this blog in your favourites and do check back often for updates and exciting news. Love Glynis aka Mom

We have more!
We have three more sponsors on board! First, Jessi aka ScrappyJessi has her own vintage-y etsy shop will be sending a great door prize. Secondly, Jayme from Scrapbooking Fanatics is sending us some yummy goodies! Jayme also participates in the Winners Walk of Hope out in Alberta because this cause is near and dear to her heart as her friend has battled this silent cancer...a HUGE thank you to Jayme and good luck with your walk in September! And our third generous sponsor is my multi-crafty friend/old neighbour and friend, Melissa who has some wonderful handmade embellishments and other goodies that she'll be donating from her little shop, My Shabby Heart! I have had the priviledge of using her creations. They are awesome! And our fourth sponsor for today is none other than my wonderful sweet grandfather, Lou Latham! He wanted to help out with our crop so he's donating a door prize as well. He's so sweet! We love you Grandpa! Thank you!
So a big thanks to our newest sponsors. Your generosity will help make our day a huge success.
